The Culture and Leisure Administration works to promote culture and leisure activities in the municipality. We are a politically directed service organization where the residents are our clients. Together, we find new ideas and solutions that contribute to the residents' quality of life, sustainability, health, integration, and reduced social exclusion.

Here you will find activities such as:

• Cultural school, performing arts, film, theater, art, music, youth culture, and open youth activities
• Leisure activities, sports, swimming pool, ice rink, association activities, and meeting places
• Museums, libraries, cultural heritage, Finnish administrative area, and minority work

Right now, something big is also happening in Valsta in Sigtuna Municipality. In the middle of the square, a completely new culture house - Mimer - is rising. The building is designed so that both residents and organizations can meet and develop in new ways.

Behind the large window panes, dynamic content is growing. Here, the library, media studio, creative workshop, stage, café, meeting rooms, and community services are gathered under one roof. Together, the activities should form a living culture house that contributes to a safe and sustainable Valsta.

Job Responsibilities

We are now looking for several house hosts for the Mimer Culture House - are you one of the passionate individuals we are looking for? With a big heart and warmth, you greet our visitors, answer questions, and provide the support needed. You are a social professional and actively work to make all ages feel welcome, safe, included, and significant.

Mimer will become a place for creative collaborations, where residents' own drive creates activities together with the municipality, associations, and society. As a house host, you are a key player in listening to needs or catching ideas from our visitors. In your work, you will also meet many different groups, such as school classes, study visits, and booked meetings.

As a house host, you move around the entire building, contact our visitors, and show that you are available for questions. You are up to date on what all the activities in the building do and offer, as well as what is happening in Valsta and Sigtuna Municipality as a whole.

The house hosts have the main responsibility for the building as a whole. You work with issues concerning the property, opening and closing, deliveries, purchasing of materials, and simpler maintenance tasks. The house hosts also play a central role in building the common hospitality, work culture, and team spirit in the building together with the rest of the staff. At Mimer, we all work together with the visitor in focus.

You are part of Mimer's permanent staff together with the unit manager, program coordinators, technicians, café and library staff.

Working hours are scheduled during days, evenings, weekends, and major holidays.

Qualifications

Valsta is a fantastic area where people with different linguistic, cultural, and personal backgrounds meet. As a house host, you need to speak several languages and have experience with several cultures. You become an important person for our visitors and employees, and take pride in together creating this welcoming environment where people can gather, develop, and feel included.

We are looking for you who have:

• Documented experience in hospitality or service work with daily contact with visitors, customers, or guests.
• Documented experience in administrative work, such as documentation, information management, bookings, registration, follow-up, or project management.
• Good digital competence and experience in providing basic technical support to visitors, customers, and activities.
• Very good knowledge of both Swedish and English in speech and writing, as well as at least one additional language.

It is also meritorious if you have:

• Experience in cultural or leisure activities.
• Experience in collaborating with associations, cultural actors, or other external parties.
• Experience in supporting or personally conducting activities, events, lectures, meetings, or cultural events.
• Experience in leading children, youth, or elderly people in activities, practice, work training, or some form of social work.
• Experience with conference and meeting technology.
• Experience with property issues, purchasing, receiving deliveries, or simpler maintenance.
